Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin confirms he’s not leaving the platform

Ethereum co-founder, Vitalik Buterin, at the annual developer conference of Ethereum, shares how his technology can only be truly decentralized. According to Buterin, the only way is that if it stops depending on him. Soon after the conference, MIT Technology Review shared the news with the headline “Ethereum founder Vitalik Buterin says his creation can’t succeed unless he takes a step back.”

Famous trader, Tone Vays, got all ‘excited’ after reading the news and went on to share the news by also adding that bitcoin does not competing with nonsense platforms such as Ethereum and EOS. Vitalik was quick to respond stating that he is not leaving Ethereum. “No plans to stop or reduce blog posts / ethresearch posts / github commits,” he wrote. Vitalik Buterin added that the headline was misleading, however, according to him, the sub-headline gave a correct emphasis which stated that Ethereum must stop depending on him if it is to be truly decentralised.

“Actually, the subheadline is fine,” Ethereum’s Vitalik Buterin explained,”Ethereum stops depending on me is the correct emphasis. But very far away from me leaving.” This is not the first time that Buterin spoke about detaching himself from the project. Last month, Vitalik suggested that detaching from the platform was “already in progress.” Vitalik Buterin, at that time, also assured that his detachment wouldn’t affect the network. He stated, “I think ethereum can absolutely survive me spontaneously combusting tomorrow at this point.”

However, that does not mean that Vitalik Buterin is completely disappearing. In fact, he explained it himself by stating, “To be clear, “detaching” meant detaching from *needing* to participate. No actual plans to disappear any time soon.”
